I wish I could have been so lucky I got mine the day before my surgery but I notice this month mine wasn't as heavy as it used to be before surgery so it seems to be a plus for me

My surgery has totally thrown me a curveball when it comes to my cycle. I have always been right on time. and for the two months since surgery it has been so unpredictable. i really hope it regulates back because i cant stand the not knowing when its coming. lol surprise visits have never been something i like.

My cycle started durning surgery which was a week early. Also I have an IUD, so most times I really can't tell when my cycle is, but this time was different. It was horrible.

Has anyone experienced pain with their cycle? I know discomfort is normal hut usually I don't have any discomfort at all. Mine started last night and today my stomach has been feeling really weird. I'm asking bc it's around my port site so I can't tell if it's bc of that or if something is wrong with my port. I was banded 5/6 and have been a little nervous I've been over doing myself. Any thoughts? I have my follow up apt Wednesday

I have an odd cycle anyway...spotting for 7-10 days before the unholy flood (which is usually over in a day). I've been spotting since one-week post surgery. I would have been very happy for it to skip me altogether for a month or two while I healed.

Only bonus is I don't have the cramps or headache I normally get (thankfully) but my mood swings are nasty.

Mine came 4 days post op, I wasn't especially happy since dealing with healing, liquid diet, etc etc. It was just one more thing to deal with. But ahh, I think it happened to most of us.

Mine came 3 days post-op which was 7 days early. They said it's very normal for that to happen. I was afraid it was going to be very heavy but wasn't to bad. So I input the new date on my free menstrual cycle tracker app and my body adjusted back to a 28 day cycle which I am hopefully going to end soon. I had worse cramping than usual and heavy flow. It has also lasted a bit longer. Hopefully it stays on that 28 day cycle because I use my app to plan stuff...lol. Really be on top of the fluids and foods and you may want to lighten up the exercise (I did a little to much and it caused heavier flow) ...

Funny semi-related story. First time I got up post op to walk I started feeling something wet on my gown and legs and looked down to see a trail of blood. I told the tech who was walking me and she said 'o I'll get you a pad!' I laughed and said that's not where it's coming from. One of my incisions was bleeding. Freaked out a little but all was ok.

My doctor told my husband I would probably start but never explained y I had just had my period a week or two before so I'm assuming it has to do with surgery -_-

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
