Has anyone lost weight without exercise

Recommended Posts

Crossfit is a good option. Just be careful. A good friend of mine is a physical therapist and she sees a ton of Crossfit injuries coming in.

With that said, I do 30 mins of cardio on my elliptical every other day. On the day that I don't do cardio, I do PIYO. It is a cross between Pilates and Yoga. It has you work against your own body weight to gain muscle mass. Love it!!!

I've lost weight without exercise, but I lose better when I exercise. As I get older I also realize I retain better range of motion and flexibility when I exercise, so I make it a point to get some type of activity in.

I did very little exercising the first 4 months - just walking a bit. I lost about 94 lbs. the first 4 months by really watching my carbs and getting my Protein and Water in daily. I did notice a slight stall from 3 1/2 to 4 month so about 1 week from my exact 4 month date I joined a gym and started working out 4-5 days a week. Since then I think I lost over around 12 lbs. (little over 2 weeks!) I feel so much better now. With the exercise I also increased my calories and Protein with actually is helping in my losing.

Best of luck!

@@Kindle,

You said you are a vet tech? How long were you out of work?

I am a nurses aide and we both on our feet all day and lift heavy things.

I'm not sure how long I should be out. My doc said 5 weeks?

@@tfarr I wanted to take two weeks, but ended up only taking 7 days off...I'm part owner in a two-person mobile practice (just me and the vet), so if I don't work, we are essentially shut down. I had a 20 pound lifting restriction for 3 weeks, so we had to be careful what surgeries and large animal visits we scheduled. But I was back to full duties by the 3 week mark. I actually had to pull double lifting duty by 6 weeks out because my vet had a hysterectomy and she had an 8 pound lifting restriction!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
