Hi Wendy! How are you feeling? Are you nervous/excited? I find myself reading a lot of the forums and watching a lot of weight loss shows.

Awesome! Sounds good to me!! I actually have 3 other friends who are going to have surgery the same day as we however, I don't think we have any idea what to expect, other than saying "LETS STAY POSITIVE". I did "My story" yesterday on my profile and it helped me a lot. I think I am going to do a daily blog, just to help with the anxiety I feel I cause myself.

Liza
My surgery is June 11 also!We can be buddies! :-)

Does anyone know about Compression Shapeware? I was advised to purchase one however I'm not sure if I should buy it now or wait until after my surgery. if anyone is interested the website is www.divascurves.com.

Welcome Liza. I might try the Shapewear when I reach goal and if floppity skin bugs me. It is not required in my bariatric program. Since you are new, you can explore the search bar by using keywords to take you to posts concerning that topic. It will keep you out of trouble for hours on end.

Hi Lisa!!! So how are you handling the nervousness?? I did "my story" and I felt better, so I decided to do a daily blog.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
