Who do I tell? Is it ok to only tell a couple people?

I am at odds with myself about the whole "telling" people thing?! I have been up and down with my weight my entire adult life but this time, hopefully, it's going to happen pretty fast. I was only planning on telling 5 people. That's it. I also don't like to lie...so, when you don't tell everyone, what do you tell people who ask you how you did it??

I am 210 and 5'5" so I am guessing I will have loose skin so I feel like I can't say I have been working out and eating right.

I don't think it's about being completely honest or lying. You have a human right to. Have your own PERSONAL BUSINESS. You are ALLOWED to keep what ever you want private. You get decided what that is,

You don't have to tell anybody anything. If you say you ave change your eating habits and activity level that will not be a lie. If you say you are eating a whole lot less and it has not been easy, that too is not a lie. You can be as detailed or not as you have to be. I don't think it's anybody's business really. Nobody is concerned and asking how we became obese in the first place, so why should this be any different,

Thanks everyone. I would LOVE to NOT tell a single person but my adult son and his family live with me and I have a 1 year old son...so, they are going to have to take care of my son for the days I am in Mexico. Also, I tell my mom EVERYTHING and she IS a secret keeper. ;)

I am glad I asked and I appreciate all the suggestions. I am going to tell a few people and that's it.

I told my mother only because she's my support person. I was hesitant because she's a bit of a babbler but she's the only person I can count on right now and she's had surgery before, so she'll know what I'll go through. I don't plan on telling anyone else because it's none of their business and I don't feel like having to explain my decision to haters because you know there's always a few lol.
