Can anyone tell me if this issue of Anterior Ischemia was a threat to not having the surgery?

Myocardial ischemia occurs when blood flow to your heart muscle is decreased by a partial or complete blockage of your heart's arteries (coronary arteries). The decrease in blood flow reduces your heart's oxygen supply.

Myocardial ischemia, also called cardiac ischemia, can damage your heart muscle, reducing its ability to pump efficiently. A sudden, severe blockage of a coronary artery may lead to a heart attack.

Off hand, although I am not an expert, I suspect the answer might be yes. One of the individuals in my support group had made it through the pre-op tests and had a surgery date scheduled. He received a call from the surgeon to check into the hospital immediately for a heart operation. He had the heart surgery performed. About a month or two later after he recovered, he then went it and had the bariatric surgery operation done. He is alive and well and doing fine. I think he has lost over 100 pounds.

Thanks James, this info has been right on target with what I have been hearing. I had my pre-op today and the Anes. Doctor said I was fine for his clearance but still had to wait for the Cardi. I'm really hoping that all goes well with my heart issues.

My surgery date came and went without me. My cardiologist said that I had to undergo a heart catheter for a possible placement of a stent. Worst case scenario is that If I get the stent I will wait a month for surgery. I will wait as long as possible to be safe! Best case is that, if the blocked artery can be treated with medicine, then I can have my surgery in a week. Everyone I beg for your prayers for a positive outcome on my heart procedure Monday morning. Blessings. Jan

Jan

I will pray that your heart problem is resolved and that you get back on track for the bariatric surgery and that all goes well.

So sorry you hit a bump in the road but it's better to make sure you are as safe as possible.

Best wishes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
