Recommended Posts

I had a slipped band replaced 2 months ago. Had 4CC put in. No restriction. Gained 2 lbs. Added 2 CC. Started throwing up took out 1 CC. I'm starving! So disappointed with myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please help me!

Disappointed in yourself? Why? You're in a difficult time right now, trying to find the correct adjustment to your band. Frustrated, sure. Uncomfortable and hungry, yes. But don't be hard on yourself. Keep going for your fills and hang on. I'm not speaking from experience, because I've just received my first fill this week, but I've been told it can be several visits and adjustments to get to the greeen zone. Be kind to yourself and stay connected here. We're all in this together. Good luck.

MamaMama...like justwatchme said please don't get upset with yourself. I am almost 4 mths out and have only had 2 fills so far 3rd is scheduled for next week...I only have 3 ccs in now and have no restrictions and am hungry most of the time too. but I am forcing myself to eat only what is on my plate (they gave me a plate when I got my 2nd fill). still my weight is coming off really slow (am unable to exercise yet) so that isn't helping either. so please don't give up on it yet MamaMama even though this is the 2nd time around. try to be alittle bit more patient with your band and hopefully this time will be the charm...I sure am going to keep you in my thoughts!!! this is a new way of life and I know that I am not always honest with myself with what I am eating...so I am going to get back on track and hoping that I get some of this weight off that is what I paid for...we are all in this together so hang in there sweetie!!!

I have had the same problem since my band revision 2 years ago. Just hang in there. Right now, until you reach green you will feel like you are on a diet, again! Best wishes.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
