I was sleeved on 12-3-13 and have done really well. Lost 60 lbs. and have had no problems until now. I'm having some nausea and my stomach feels quezzey all the time. I'm not supposed to see my surgeon until my 6 mos. appt, but I'm thinking I should let him know how I'm feeling. I'm also weak and tired all the time which I know can be common but the nausea and quezzyness. Anyone else experience this ???

I have read many posts relating to issues like yours several months out and the gallbladder is typically the culprit. I am about where you are and while I had no pre-op concerns with my gallbladder, it's always in the back of my mind should any symptoms arise. Just food for thought.

Thanks for your input but my gallbladder was removed 15 yrs. ago. I've had this quezzyness

for over a week now so I think I'm going to call my surgeon on Monday.

Getting the recommended 64 oz. in has been extremely difficult. I find the hot liquids like tea or sugar free hot chocolate go down so much easier. I have a hard time drinking plain Water but yet the flavored ones are too sweet. I do wake up with a dry mouth at night and I probably am somewhat dehydrated. It's really hard to drink when your tummy is nauseous. How does anyone get all this in and what r your tips ?

Are you taking a Multi-Vitamin? I am 18 months out and have lost about 100 lbs. I have reached my goal weight. At times I get very tired and take some Iron with my Vitamins for a month and increase the amount of red meat I am eating. I find this helps a lot.

It does sound like dehydration. Drink as much Water as you can and see if it improves. Meeting the Water requirements is hard to do even for vets. I drink a lot of smart water with electrolytes to optimize what I get in.

If it doesn't improve you should notify your doctor. It could be a Vitamin deficiency or any number of things.

Try adding G2 Gatorade to your Water. coffee, tea they are diuretics. You may find that if you drink 1/2 Gatorade with 1/2 water every day it will help with hydration. BUT call the surgeon just to be on the safe side..... :)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
