Transitioning to soft goods

Recommended Posts

Breakfast:

Dannon Light Greek Yogurt is still what I eat every morning.

lunch

I would do steamed cauliflouer and mix in a wedge of laughing cow cheese, salt and pepper and puree

or

Cottage cheese- small curd

or

Vegetable Soup pureed

Dinner: Refried Beans, pureed

or

Cottage Cheese- small curd

or

Vegetable Soup pureed

Of course you can still do your Protein shakes to get in your Protein

SF Jello Puddings- 60 cal

I'm sure there are many others but these were my staples through this stage.

Best of luck and congrats on moving on to the next stage!!:-)

Ok so I'm finally able to move away from the staples of my life; the beloved Jello and broth. Any suggestions how to start, what to eat morn, noon night? I'm just trying to wrap my head around what a day looks like.

Didn't your doctor provide a list of items you can eat? No one should have to ask these questions on an online forum. You should have detailed instructions of what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat.

If you did not receive this information, demand it. This is not the way to start your journey. You need information or you will get into trouble. Eating with the band is not instinctive at all and I am concerned for you that you will not receive the support you deserve and are paying for.

Please call or see your doctor or nutritionist as soon as possible. Good luck.

Thank you enjoythetime. You're response was very helpful and greatly appreciated. To see how the foods all fit in within a day. Getting a list from my nutritionist wasn't enough for me. Thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom ????

I started soft foods last week and here are some of the things I eat: scrambled eggs, tuna with light mayo, canned chicken with light mayo, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, thinned oatmeal, deli turkey with laughing cow cheese wedge, pintos and cheeses go made like Taco Bell, turkey meatballs in blender with some Pasta Sauce. My doc told me I could have any soft food that I could cut with a cheap plastic fork and it not break.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
