I have a serious crack(er) addiction

Recommended Posts

I have discovered rice crackers (approved as I slowly move on to soft foods) , however for lunch 4 of those tiny crackers are more than enough to fill me up, but what I have found is that I am addicted to licking the seasoning off the rest of them lol

I am sure it's probably too much salt ..but yeah I am having hardly any food so fuck it for the moment I don't care :)

Anyway that all for today .. Almost 3 weeks post surgery I only have a few more days before I have to go back to work :( boooo but feeling good at the moment

You're funny! In solidarity and respect I will admit I have yet to resort to licking food, but it has definitely occurred to me! Beware of those darn rice crackers, I have celiac, and boy those things shoot my blood sugar to the sky! (Oh yeah, also diabetic, joy...) I imagine they are approved because of texture, not nutrition. Then again, what can a few licks hurt? Hope you get to eat more soon.

Amy

I bought the gluten free rice crackers and they are pretty low in calories. It does help with getting the tunafish down. I don't think a few crackers are going to hurt you as long as you are not overdoing the carbs. good luck.

I've done the lick thing with pretzels! I really craved the salt when I first got into soft foods, too!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
