Died and gone to heaven!

I have discovered Hickory Smoked Bacon Jerky by Trails Best, with the Duck Dynasty folks on the package. Each oz. contains 11 grams of Protein, 1 carb, and 8 grams of fat.

Talk about getting your chewing fix!

Usually Jerky has sugar as one of the first ingredients so I avoid it. Does this?

If one carb then I m would assume it is low. I'll try it!

The main concern with it I would think would be the sodium content. It is 660 mg. I don't really restrict my sodium, so I don't know if that is a really bad number or not.

There are plenty of low sugar jerkies (though there are plenty of high sugar ones too) I just am careful to read labels. This sounds tasty! Where did you find it?

I found it at our local Big Lots store. I'm planning on going back and cleaning them out because you never know if and when they will get them in again. Other than that, you will just have to check other grocery stores, or maybe online.

I'm a little over 3 months now. I found the Jerky and tried it just before I was two months out. I still love it, and had some every day this week. It satisfies my need to chew.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
