April 16th role call - who's with me!

Melodica-- that's awesome. I hadn't been below 220 since I was 18. I felt like I would never get to onederland. I've been eating bad myself and using the restriction as my tool.

I'm officially down 115lbs from my heaviest weight. 54 from surgery. I've had the worst month and a half of my life emotional wise with family issues. I had been tracking my weight loss in the notes on my phone and my phone broke. I thought I backed it up and it wasn't : ( Almost 5 months of my weekly progress and it's gone.

My hair loss is insane. I started washing mine 2-3 times a week. My carpet is covered in my hair. I have to vacuum constantly. I've been taking Biotin and was just recommended to take coq10 and zinc from a friend that had gastric bypass. So far I haven't notice any difference. I still have issues getting enough liquids in. I feel like I've been dehydrated for 5 months.

I work at a casino of about 5000 employees, it's crazy how many people from other departments that I have never talked to or remembered seeing have come up to me to tell me how great I look and ask what I'm doing. I feel bad lying but people are so nosey that I just tell them what worked for me pre surgery. I lost 80lbs on my own before the surgery. I'm down to a size 16 but I haven't bought any clothes. I was lucky a coworkers daughter was going to toss some clothes so I got a pair or shorts and jeans to get by. I need to start exercising but with my emotional issues it's been hard to even get to work. But even though I'm down 115lbs I still see the same body in the mirror. My breasts have shrunk and that's the only thing I see, lol. I wish that was one thing that would have stayed. I just keep saying once I get to where I want to be then I'll look into some augmentation. post-215436-1410893667975_thumb.jpg

Wow!!! You look amazing!! I agree ladies, it is SO hard to see the difference for us even though others see it all the time. I had my 12 year old daughter take pics before my surgery and then again a few weeks ago so I could see a change. It definitely helped! Here you go! Somehow I feel comfortable posting them here cause I wouldn't show my close friends or Facebook. I'm still so ashamed of the way I looked.post-213748-14109181780603_thumb.jpg post-213748-1410918193177_thumb.jpg

Great work fellow sleevers! I love being able to connect a face to everyone's name and story! I will continue to keep you guessing as I'm a tad paranoid about posting my pics on the Internet... Especially since only my parents and sweetie know I had this surgery done!

Can you believe yesterday was our 5 month anniversary? I am down to 178 this morning. That's 60 pounds down and 18 pounds until I make my first goal of 160. We went to Yosemite this past weekend and I hiked to the top of Vernal falls. I last did this hike a few weeks before surgery and it was brutal. I had to stop several times and I had a hard time breathing. This time I did the whole thing without stopping once. It was actually kind of easy! The awesome thing is I am making my own "biggest looser" type video. The first video I took of myself at the top of vernal falls at my beginning weight. I took a follow up video last weekend and wow- what a difference! Even my voice has changed! We will be going back in April 2015 to take the final video and I'm confident I will be at goal weight. I'm so happy I have video of me at my largest. It captures so much more than a photograph!

Second attempt at post today :/

So, I did it. I cut all my hair off. I do believe almost 12 inches. I also splurged and bought 100 worth of a hair system by aveida for thinning hair. My hair seems thicker and the thinning has slowed. Not sure if it's because the weight of my hair is gone. Only time will tell.

I went through my closet and had a mini breakdown when I realized a shrank out of some of my favorites without realizing it. I can't afford to replace a whole closet of clothes at this time. It was nice to realize though that the cute cheap clothing stores that cater to the tiny includes myself now. Yay. Also, my local goodwill has high end pants for five and seven dollars. Another yay. No more tears.

Speaking of tears. My period seems to be like clockwork since starting birthcontrol. Does this mean I'm more fertile? It's never worked like that before. I'm not ready for all that.

I'm now 194

Highest 305

Surgery day 271

I've lost a small person!!

Still struggling with taking Vitamins. I bought a bunch of liquid Wellesse from eBay for cheap. I pray I can hold them down. This sliming crap is for the birds too. I can only do bites the size of my thumb nail and about a minute a part. I miss eating normal bites. :/. It's all worth it though.

Happy hump day everyone! Huggers!

I'm here!!! I've been reading along trying to catch up as I could. We went to Disneyworld and then to St. Augustine to the beach and we're gone for 9 days. So preparing a family of 5 and my 72 year old mother for the trip took me out of the loop for a while.

I'm very happy to say that with all the little cheats I allowed while on vacation, I still lost weight! This is the first time since surgery I have not weighed daily and I just knew I had gained. I really didn't eat that bad. Still tiny portions, but I had a quarter of a bagel and a couple of other bites of bread, which I have not had throughout this journey, so I was paranoid. But since the Wednesday before we left until now, I still lost 3 lbs!

My husband teased that I was like a crack head running all over all 4 Disney Parks like a freak show with the stroller. I have more energy than I've ever had in my life so it's almost like I'm trying to catch up for all the years of having to sit and take a break every few minutes and huffing and puffing. I'm happier than I've ever been and I think my kids are enjoying their new mom.

We went to a Halloween Party at Disney and I surprised the kids by dressing up as Batgirl!!! They were so excited. I can't believe all the comments I got (even as I'm holding hands with my husband)!! I'm not used to all the positive attention so it was a little overwhelming, but I got used to it really quickly. ;)

If I get up enough nerve, I'll post a picture.

I'm down to 166 lbs. Just 16 lbs from my originally set goal. I just can't believe it. After failing so many times, it's such a sense of accomplishment to actually stick to the plan and get closer and closer to a goal.

I love all of your pictures. I love the short hair, too, Butterfly!!! Thanks for checking on me! I'm here, just playing catch up on laundry, work, everything......

Anyone tried eating steak yet?

I've been really bad. I've eaten pretty much anything and everything that I want. Some things go over better than others though. Just have to be careful and eat it slowly. I know I probably shouldn't be eating some of the things that I do, but I did not get this surgery to never have what I like again. I got it to help me with my Portion Control and to get me on the right track and that's what it's doing.

I eat steak all of the time! I'm lucky that most things agree with me. The only think I can't do is anything w ally of sugar in it. Anything too sweet makes me sick. I eat what I want just smaller (really small) portions. 70+ pounds so far! My tool is working :)

I have had plenty of steak. We were told in one of our classes that the rarer the steak is cooked, the easier it would be on our sleeve as it's more tender. Luckily, I like rare to medium rare so it works great for me. Just cut tiny little pieces and eat it slow and chew until your jaws are tired.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
