A vent about where I'm losing inches from...

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else have the issue of losing inches from some parts of your body, and it being lost on other parts at a snails pace? My face is thinner, I lost inches in my bust and thighs. But it is slowly and stubbornly staying on my hips and belly. I could definitely wear pants 1-2 sizes smaller if it weren't for the belly (sure, I could squeeze in and have a muffin top, but I can't bring myself to do that). And the worst part about it is that clothes just aren't looking good. All my clothes sag and bag from my butt down and just hang from my neck to my waist. Not flattering at all. Don't get me wrong, I am THRILLED that I am losing, but it just stinks that it doesn't come off nicely. And I don't want to wear yoga pants forever!!

My belly is shrinking but my hips are staying put. I have some stuff that you can fit both my hands into the waist plus have room but the hips still fit great. Hate it!

Give it time ladies. .. things will smooth out and even out in time, especially during stalls or periods of no weight loss. Your body tends to be healing and settling during those times. Hang in there

Try doing some isolating exercises for those areas.. Sweat it off ladies. Being skinny fat is so not sexy you need to build up some muscle under that fluff.. Strength training has been a life saver for me..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
