2 week surgiversary today and I lost 10lbs first week and for this last week I've been bouncing between 228.4-230.2. Today I was 229.2. I'm getting in all my Water and some plus all my Protein. Doctor said to experiment with foods and I have, no problems with anything! My caloric intake has not been more than 720, but mostly between 550-650. I've also gone back to the gym and have been walking 30 on the treadmill. Just so frustrated seems I'm working harder and loosing weight now that I was before surgery and now weight won't come off! Thanks for letting me vent :/

Take a breath. It's not going to be instant. Took a long time to put on the weight and takes a while to take it off. Patience, patience.

Seems to me that you are right on track....

Don't use the scale so much..It is your enemy. You are geared to lose weight so it will happen when your body allows it...Try to up the Protein a little more so that you won't have too bad of an issue with hair loss.

The small amount of calories can and will make your body believe it is in distress and it will protect itself. :)

I am having surgery May 5th and I plan to continue using my Quantum scale. I love it! It's not for everyone...it was recommended by Dr. Oz as well as many other health care professionals. It looks like a normal scale except it is a one-user scale only. You press the set button then get on the scale. It then reads OK when it has calculated your weight. But your "real weight" will never show. The only thing that shows when you get back on the scale is how many pounds you are up or down from your starting weight. It's great! I have also used it for my son when he had to "cut weight" for football. If he saw his true weight he was more discouraged but doing the plus or minus was better for him emotionally. I think it's a great tool for kids or teens aiming to lose weight.

You are only 2 weeks after a major surgery. Your body is still recovering. Be patient.

Rationally I knew stalls would happen but I have been so careful and compliant this last week, increasing my exercise every day, keeping calories down (400-600) and Protein up -- but I have been stuck for six days now and I don't remember even sitting still this long on traditional (ok, failed) diets in the past. For the first month I took pride in looking at my food and exercise totals at the end of the day, but now they only tick me off.

I know I should hide the scale and get on with it, but I am so looking forward to getting to a place that is actually noticeable to others, 40 pounds is still a drop in the bucket.

Why aren't you listening to a vet...Look eating between 400-600 calories is not enough. you can exercise until your blue in the face but if your body goes into protective mode. You will store those calories and you will not lose the right kind of body fat. Not to mention killing your metabolism as well.

******Who cares if you are smaller if you make yourself sick over this. This is not a race. This is a time to make yourself healthier, but not by any means possible.

Seriously you have to back this train up and take a new look at what you are doing to yourself.

Put 40 lbs of butter on the table and try to pick it up...There is the ticket. Or forty lbs of potatoes. Or forty lbs of gum drops. All the same you will see that you are doing great...

You can not rush your progress by eating 400-600 calories.. You are only going to hurt yourself......Please think about what your doing. Take that scale and smash it with a sledge hammer until you learn how to treat the scale as a tool and not look for numbers as your soul measure.......

I had to drink more and raise my calories to start losing again after my stall. I try and get 800 and it's hard to get that much at this point, but if I get 600 and then exercise and burn 500 I'd only have 100 left to try and get through my day. Ain't gonna work.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
