Scared of stretch marks

Recommended Posts

I'd also like to know. I know I'll be doing lots of weights to fill in the "sag" with muscle. I wonder if those wraps work.

There's no way to be sure how your body will be after. Some people have very little excess skin, and some have more. Do your best to drink lots of Water and moisturize your skin, since those are the best ways to keep your skin healthy and in good shape.

Water, moisturizers and exercise. The rest is up to genes, I know my stretch marks will be around forever. Although I'm heavier than during both my pregnancies, the stretch marks from both are not going anywhere. I had two 9 pounders and my stomach was obnoxiously huge. My skin didn't recover 20 years ago, and they are still prevalent now despite my stomach being more less than 1/2 the size. I decided it was just not something I was going to worry about it because in reality, this old girl is never wearing a 2 piece bathing suit or a shirt that shows my belly.

But excess skin? Worried about that knowing it will happen whether I worry or I don't. For me it's arms and legs. I can cover the middle and the a good bra will take care of the girls. I'm trying really hard not to think about it. My energy can be spent on things I can control.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
