I overbought, thinking I wanted variety. Even though I have many brands and flavors, my defaults are powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate Splendor and Unjury strawberry Sorbet. Sometimes I make the chocolate with milk or the strawberry with Crystal Lite Lemonade. I can make both with just Water, or coconut milk, coconut Water, or almond milk.

I've only tried 3 brands - EAS carb control, Muscle Milk and Premier Protein. All premixed and only the chocolate flavor. Premier Protein comes in 1st - being the smoothest and most like chocolate mile, EAS comes in a close 2nd (just a little grainy texture and waterier), Muscle Milk tasted good, just too many calories from carbs. I can usually find the Premier and EAS at Sams and Walmart for around $1.25/shake.

When I want a thicker shake, I toss in a scoop of powdered Protein mix.

Muscle milk 100 (low carb) is pretty good but I am unable to drink it post op. I am pretty picky and I was able to tolerate it preOp just fine.

I overbought also. I liked Premier Protein chocolate. Just threw up one last week. I want no more. My NUT told me a month ago to stop the shakes and eat real food anyway.

I eat real food at almost 8 months out, but I honestly still cannot eat enough to get in all my Protein, so I still have shakes 5 times a week. They are a real life saver for getting in Protein.< /p>

My current favorites are

Syntrax Matrix in chocolate flavors and Peanut Butter Cookie (I add an extra spoonful of PB2 to make it more nutty)

Chike coffee Protein powder (I have it hot or cold, sometimes add in a tbl of unsweetened cocoa powder to make a mocha)

unjury chicken broth protein

I also have Amazing Meal brand on occasion, and use hemp or pea protein instead of whey sometimes to mix it up. I get tired of whey all the time and I'm not crazy about soy protein flavor.

I drink this wakey shakey berry Protein shake which tastes really great. It is low in calories and very much suitable for those who have undergone the lap band surgery or other weight loss surgeries. It is low in carbs and high in Proteins which makes it ideal for those who wish to stay in shape.

Premier Protein has been my go-to since pre-op. I know myself so I knew that ready to drink would work best with my schedule (12 hour workdays because of long commute). It comes in strawberry, vanilla and chocolate, does not need to be refrigerated (although it is much better cold) and is easy to grab n go. I take five to work every monday and have one most mornings, or afternoon snack. I am over 3 months out and still cannot get all my Protein from food. Premier is economical too - $24 for 18 shakes at costco.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
