I see where a lot of people have thought about backing out of the surgery for different reasons. I'm going to name some of my fears but I still want to have it...making it through surgery, saggy skin and if it will be as bad as just staying big, thinning hair, I heard your face can wrinkle, having cosmetic surgery, not being able to afford cosmetic surgery, not losing to goal weight or even get near it etc. We all have things go through our minds, but I think we will regret not having WLS more! God Bless!!!

I have to say that once I made up my mind that was it. Nothing is more important than my overall health. I can understand your concerns weigh them against eachother I am sure health will always come out on top.

Isnt it all about LIVING and not DYING.......... who cares if you have a little skin issue etc.. You can take care of that down the road. Trust me you will get to goal weight and beyond if you follow what you are supposed to do .. Reminder this is a tool.. That is it just a tool.. Y9u can lose all your weight and go back just as easily the other way... Just like any other diet you have ever been on you can "SCREW IT UP!".. Simply said. Not being negative beleive me we are all here to help and want to help. But this isnt a mirracle .,. takes work and dedication.. For me it came off fast.. Over 200lbs in 10 months. However i follow the plan to a "T" and i work out at the gym line a crazy person 6 days per week.. very very strict. Saved my life.

Ask yourself 'whats the alternative?'.

Every time I feel that way something reminds me that I am merely existing and not very well at that, so whats the alternative...

Well to live and i'm already dealing with extra skin that's filled with fat, my diet isn't brilliant and instead of a sedatory life because I am just too tired I will get up and move.

We all have doubts and its not that we don't believe in the negatives we just have to ignore them otherwise they could cripple our future.

Chin up girl you can do this,

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
