Thinking about everyone who's having surgery this week. I"m a week post op today and doing great. hardly any pain at all haven't used any meds since i left the hospital and already lost 14 lbs. Just try to concentrate on what's on the other side and how it's going to improve life for you. :)

I had my post op visit today and I am down 15 lbs! Feeling great! Still get tired but no pain Meds. I already feel good about my choice to improve my overall health! Good luck to everyone that has yet to go!

Well I made it through the surgery June 4th. I was in the hospital an extra day because I was so nauseous. Now that I am home I am able to keep Protein and Water down but I am so fatigue. Has anyone else felt that way and what did you do.

i had surgery the same day as you and i was really nauseous in the hospital but it got better when i got home. i still have some now. but every day is different. i had one day that i felt like i didn't even have surgery then the next day i was so fatigued that i was on the sofa all day.

So excited!!! I am getting a little nervous though. I bought all the things I need for my clear liquid diet the day before surgery this morning. Only 12 days left!!!! 6 days till pre-op.

WOW Just 3 more days to go! I officially start my liquid diet tomorrow but I am prepping myself today by drinking my Protein and only eating a small amount for lunch. Lets just say I am not a big fan of Protein Drinks so I am going to have to get my game face on for a few months LOL I just cant stand the after taste.

My 10 day countdown starts tomorrow. My pre-op is Thursday. I am more worried about the pre-op than the surgery. This will be my 7th surgery so I am not scared of being put under the anesthesia or anything like that. However all my surgeries have been on my back. So I am a little nervous about having an abdominal surgery. I could handle the pain of having my spine fused twice, I think I can do this.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
