Well 233 today! I am moving in the right direction! Makes me happy to see that scale moving again. I feel great.....I am hoping to be at 230 by the end of the week. I think it is a real mental thing though because I am taking it soooo easy because I saw how tight my band was.

Just a couple of post-revision pics. Still got a bit of swelling, but overall not bad for a guy who was almost 300 lbs on a 5'9 frame less than 2 years ago.

Still want the hardbody look, but -that- is up to me and my eating/workout habits. That's a year 3 goal

To put this in perspective, here I am in late 2006. I'm in white, on the right. Those are 48 waist jeans, vs the 36 above.

gordie,

This happens to me sometimes too. I have to be careful to not eat anything for quite a few hours before bed. If I don't and I drink anything, I have this problem too. It's like my pouch is still full and the Fluid doesn't make it's way all the way down. I was having a real hard time with it for a while. Hope it gets better for you.

I too am having the problems at night with Fluid backing up into my throat. I had a fill last Thursday and I am now at 2 cc in a 4cc band. I have never had this type of restriction ever since being banded (5/07). I have been on liquids for the past three days and I am willing to stick it out as I have not lost any weight to speak of because I was too loose, but I am afraid that the fluid content may injure my throat. I literally start choking and am awaken several times throughout the night. Does this pass or do I remove some fluid. My concern, like most is that I will lose the restriction that took this long to get and be back at not losing...any thoughts out there? :)

I would try not eating for at least 3 hours before bed as was recommended when I had my surgery. I experienced this after my last fill but since it was the best one I have had, I rode it out...it took a few weeks for it to loosen where I could have anything but Protein Drinks before dinner time but it was worth it and I made sure I got enough calories.

Hello all!

All is going well.. well.. as well as it can go at 36.5 weeks pregnant! I've been on bed rest for a week and a half and its driving me absolutely NUTS! On the good side.. I've only gained 23 lbs so far.. so I'm happy about that. I just have to hold off until 3/31 to make it to 37 weeks.. then I can go off bed rest and get progressing!!

Hope everyone is well...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
