Hubby and I went out last night to Logan's Roadhouse. We went with another couple to Celebrate our friend's bday. I decided that iiii have been in charge this whole time and that iiii have stopped myself at satisfied and not full for a little over two months now. So I had this. Not a problem. I would order the house salad and no more. Well the bday boy ordered a round of shots. Oh dear. Ok can't sip that. Shot glasses in the air! Clinking all around! "To good friends!!" Hmm okkk down the ol hatch! Went down a bit harsh but went down. A lil later second round of shots have arrived. Dangit! Ok I got this! Clink! And it's down. chips and Queso sure is looking good! I'll have 1...ok 2.... 34567 mindlessly talking away and feeling the shots now. Guess I'm a light weight now. Salad arrives I take a big forkful sooo good! Wait... No no this isn't good. Mouth watering and not in a good way. Suddenly my new snazzy sleeve pipes up and says, hey honey your sooo done here! In fact, YOU miss missy have been greedy and now you may give some back to Logan's. Ten minutes later.... I made my way back to the table with smeared horror movie makeup and a little bit of pee in my pants! So today I'd like to say thank God for long shirts and my not so subtle sleeve.

Oh you poor thing! Yikes - what a way to learn that limit. I hope you're okay. I'd read a couple books about women who pushed their limits, and were just fine except a few incidents like you describe, but it sounds so UNfun that I'm sure you've warmed me and several others off such things for a while. Take care, and good luck on finding new ways to Celebrate with well-meaning loving friends. Maybe a shot glass of Jello instead of the good stuff?

Oh dear heavens that sounds awful! And I totally sympathize with ALL of it!!

The simultaneous puke-and-pee is one of those "blessed miracles" that came with my bundle of joy.

We're the shots at least tasty the first time? Idk what I'd do if someone handed me a buttery nipple shot. Probably be a wet blanket and sip it all night, LOL.

*hugs* I hope you feel better!!

A GOOD story for us to remember. Thanks for sharing. The real battle is "mindful eating" I reckon.

Wow that doesn't sound like fun... But I know the feeling not so much with shots but just trying new things at different restaurants. Let's just say I always know where the restroom is and keep it in sight in case my sleeve wants to remind me who is in charge. Glad you are OK.

My doc said ABSOLUTELY NO alcohol for 6 months after surgery. I understand that old habits die hard but for me.. With all the hard work and stress of getting to the point of surgery.. I don't understand why peeps would even dare to push the envelope. Thanks for sharing... The route we chose isn't an easy one.. Guess we will all have those challenges along the way!

my surgeon and nut are 8 hours away so I don't have follow up care. It never occurred to me to ask about alcohol when I was there though because I'm not much of a drinker. So guess I wasn't worried about how soon I could add it. That's good information to know though! Thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
