How long has it been since you've been sleeved EarthyGoalie? I love 40 cal natures own bread and would love a bologna sandwich. Maybe one day??

I'm 5 months out. I've been eating a little of the 40 cal bread since I've been 3 months out.

I am Orthodox and for Holy Communion we are served fresh bread made with yeast as the body and wine as the blood of Christ. I don't normally eat bread but I felt like communion bread would be okay and I was right. I've not had any problem with it. I don't eat sandwiches and I don't have any kind of bread with my meals so I don't think I'll hurt myself by having one piece of communion bread each Sunday. I can eat most anything now but its still in such small amounts so I stick with Protein and a veggie.

I'm 8 weeks and just this week I had one slice of whole wheat with PB2 for Breakfast. Couldn't finish it.

I was an avid breadaholic before my surgery. Recently I tried a slice of buttered toast, and to my dismay, I loved it, and it didn't bother me in the least. I was soooo hoping I'd be one of those people who would decide they didn't like bread afterwards. I'm going to have to consciously avoid breads because I don't think my sleeve will do it for me.

I can eat toast fine, so good with a pan fried get on top for breakfast! I even have eaten a few bites of a McDonalds fish sandwich so delicious. I figure if I can only get 3 bites in surely it cannot hurt me:-) lol most days I stick to Greek yogurt, cottage cheese and fruit cup, salad w/ meats.... chicken makes me gag now!!! Why I do not know! Steak is delicious! I love egg drop soup... My go to food! I cannot tolerate any thing that ha been fried...yeah! Good luck and play it by ear!

I am five months out and have had only a few bites of bread. It is way to filling for me. I love bread but I know it is a slippery slope for me so I avoid it.

I'm 15 months out and still can't eat bread. I have lunch on toasted sandwich thins but can't eat real bread without it filling me for hours. Potatoes, rice, and Pasta are all eaten in limited quantities for the same reason. I think everyone is different, but for me, bread is a thing of the past.

As per religious observance, I bake and eat Challah every Friday and Saturday for HaMotzi. Between a pinch of Challah and about 3oz of Grape juice, I'm stuffed to the gills. I've had great luck with thin pieces of Rye for when I need a deli fix.

How soon after your procedure did you have challah? Thanks!

I eat half a whole wheat English muffin or 1 slice of bread. If its a roll, I pull out all the fluffy inside. Same with a bagel, I pull out all the insides and eat just half. Everything in moderation.

No, I can too. I don't usually eat them, but tonight I had a PB&J. Half at 5pm and half at 9pm. I don't eat rice or Pasta though, just not interested. I think that tonight I wanted the sandwich because all I've eaten today was Protein, except for a slice of Tomato.< /p>

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
