Hi. I am still around. I have just been having a heck of a time getting on here for the last week or so. I haven't watched this season of the biggest loser. I watched the first couple of seasons, but this year I just couldn't get into it.

I had my 5th fill this week. I think I can tell a difference. I don't know how long it will last, but I am getting full off of less food (at least for now). Hopefully, I won't wake up at some point with it being too tight.

I am still here too. I have also had a lot of trouble lately getting on this site, don't know what is up. I don't watch biggest loser. I tried, but I just can't get into it. slim, when did you have your last fill? I had mine almost 3 weeks ago and it is perfect so far. The weight is starting to come off really good again. I hope to be below 200 very soon!

I had my fill Tuesday. Dr. Ponce did it so I guess I will see how it goes. I really feel the difference this time. I actually feel fullness on very little food. As long as it doesn't start to feel tighter, I think this might be the one. In all of the time that I have had my band, this is the first time that I actually felt the full feeling on a small amount of food. I have to admit that because I am feeling some restriction, I am scared to try solid food. I am still eating soft food. I plan to make a meatloaf for dinner tonight and plan to try to eat a little of that. I just don't want to feel the pain that I have heard about. So far, on my stuck episodes, it didn't actually hurt. I just could feel it sitting in my throat. I am not ready for pain. Congrats on getting close to onederland. I am hoping to be right behind you.

good to know that you all are still around. i am having my 4th fill in a few days. with this last fill, i had pretty good restriction for the first week and a half or so but 3 weeks later I know I definitely need a fill.

Congrats on the ones also, Carrie. I will be there one day.

Your fourth fill sounds similar to my fourth fill. I felt it that day, but I actually didn't feel it any more after that. I waited 2 weeks to see if it would kick in, but it didn't. I was another month before they could get me in for a fill. Hopefully, your next fill will last longer.

I'm still here. My second fill is on March 24th. I can't tell any difference after my first fill, but they warned me I probably wouldn't until after the third fill. So I'm watching my portions, but I haven't lost any weight this last week. Now that it's warming up, my wife and I can start walking together, so that will help.

Hi, haven.t been on in awhile. I am starting to get depressed. The only thing that is losing is my stocks and savings accounts. My weight is very effected by stress and the only thing on tv is how bad the ecomony is. You dont have to tell me. My husband and I are retired and it looks like we will have to go back to work but there are no jobs. I am working very hard not to graze out of stress but my portions are increasing. I have had 2 fills with my next one March 19th.

Does everyone measure their food. I dont. I just wing it. I am not snacking yet. Should I eat smaller meals and have a smart snack inbetween or keep to just 3 meals and eat more to fill full?

Sorry, just want to vent and get support. Thanks everyone for just being there. I read ya all the time.

According to Dr. Ponce, it should just be 3 small meals with no Snacks. Do you have any restriction yet? I would say don't worry about how slow it may be coming off just yet. My weight loss has been slow. I only lost a few pounds a month during the first 3 months. I did measure my food the first month or so to get an idea of how much food was really on my plate. I don't measure now. I am trying to put the least amount of food on my plate to see if that satisfies me. I am of the old school where you always cleaned your plate, so I am trying to keep it at a minimum. If I am not satisfied, I can always get more. Also, don't worry about venting. We all need to vent every once in a while. You are doing fine. Don't get down on yourself.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
