Lost a very good friend

Recommended Posts

Hello my fellow pals (Just need support thanks in advance)

Yesterday I lost a very good friend.... rarely do you find a friend that you can laugh with all the time and enjoy talking to everyday. She started off New Years In the hospital very sick...(won't go into details of her illness) but when she called me I didn't want to treat her any different the only thing I wanted to do was try to make her laugh...but unfortunately it seem that laughter was no more..I received news that she was back in the hospital the third time....when I talk to her over a week ago we only briefly discussed things at work. I still cry and I believe last night in my room when I saw what look like a twinkle in the corner of my bedroom it was her letting me know she will be their and all I have to do is still talk to her...as I am writing this I am crying because I will miss my BEST FRIEND! When I was sad she cheered me up when I was stressed she told me it would be ok....I have no idea where I will find another friend. I don't use the word Friend loosely...I have only 3 good friends including my mom...So I decided that one day I will put out applications for a new BEST FRIEND but for now I will just enjoy our memories. I have one less person to share my days with and I hope that I will laugh again. BYE MY FRIEND I MISS U~

lynn2win, Sending hugs in your time of sorrow. I understand all those feelings of loss as I went through something very similar when I lost my best friend to breast cancer. It takes a long time for that pain to ease but the one thing I know is that you were so lucky to have a friend that you felt so close to. Those types of relationships are rare and not something everyone gets to experience. Count yourself lucky. Keep those memories close to your heart and she will always be with you. I hope you will be okay.

Lynn, I'm so sorry for your loss. Loosing anyone is aweful but your best friend, I can't even imagine. Know that she's still with you in your heart and she'll always be cheering for you from above.

I really appreciate all the love...as we get older it is hardier to find true friends....I hope to one day find another friend that I can trust and one that I can open up to....I am reading a book by Rick Warren and it is teaching me to not say why but what is this teaching me....and this teaches me life is too short and I knew what I had and now its gone

Lynn - I know what you are going through. I lost my best friend in November. We had 45 wonderful years of friendship. I miss her every day. She was supposed to be here to help me after my surgery (I don't have a date yet).

I believe that twinkle was your friend--I know mine is with me every day. Let me know when you're ready for a new friend--I will apply!

Sending hugs and prayers your way!

Thanks everyone for the kind words...I haven't been on here for awhile...her funeral was on Wedes and I went to the wake and barely made it 30mins without sobbing..I gave her husband and 2 sons and hug and left and cried in the car...I left and went to my truck and looked up and told her I made it I made it...At one point I didn't want to go and when I got close to the casket I refused to look in because I refused to believe she is gone....later that day when I was out I went to call her and was like oh gosh she isn't here anymore...and when things happen at work I say I about to call her and then I reach for the phone and realize I can't tell her in person what is going on...GOSH I MISS HER SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH...I hate to say this but I can't wait till I get to the point that I am only crying once aday instead of numerous of times a day....I hadn't told her about my journey to WLS because I didn't have my appt until after she got sick and it didn't seem like the right time to say anything...I just believe she would make it!!!!!! LIl New ME..of course I will take app's just so that you know I am the baby of the family and she was the oldest of her family so we worked real well together....THANKS EVERYONE I still cry everyday but one day I will smile

Lynn, I had tears rolling down my face when I read your post. I did the exact same thing when my best friend passed away from breast cancer. It changed my life forever. Our husbands were best friends, our kids were best friends, we went to church together, we celebrated holidays together....then she died and everything changed. I was in denial when she got sick and was in shock when she died... it took so long to find a sense of normalcy again but it did come eventually with time. Yeah, you are going to miss her a lot and that empty hole in your heart is going to seem so vast but through the grief process you will learn to fill that hole with new relationships and new experiences. That doesn't mean you will ever forget her...you will keep her with you forever but you will become more open to other friendships. It is so wonderful to have a friend in life that you have been able to love so deeply...many people never get that opportunity. It will get better with time but in the meantime...it is perfectly okay to cry. Keep talking to her because I bet she still hears you. Sending you healing hugs {{{{{ Lynn}}}}} Take care, Janet

Thanks Janet I do still try to talk to her...I was driving to work yesterday and I have been saying please send me a sign your out their and then I was driving and said send me a sign( but actually from a song) and a big flew right in front of my car and then when I turned the corner a bird flew again....yes I still cry multiple times a day and I asked her to send me a good friend and also great husband to marry....I wish she was still here I have no one to go to for advice,,,even though she was older than I...she was still my best buddy.... I need to get motivated and get out of the house I just work and come home and lay in my bed...Thanks again everyone

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
