I havent had a fill since November. Would that make it to where I was able to eat more or did I maybe stretch my stomach out a little. I am really worried about this but am not sure which it could be. I am going to go get a fill on Monday though I just havent been able to get one because I live so far away from the doctors office. Any input would be greatly appriciated. Thx -Gummie

If you have lost weight since November, the band could be looser around your stomach. It is also possible that you stretched your pouch if you have been overeating. Be careful! If your doctor does fills under fluoroscopy, they can diagnose pouch dilation. But, if you have been following the rules, you are more likely to just be in need of a fill which you are getting! Best of luck.

Yes - my fill center wants to have us in at least every 90 days - if only to check everything out. After 4 months - you have probably just lost a little fat from underneath your band.

Good Luck!

Gummie, if you are eating too much it is time for a fill. You probably have not stretched your pouch. If you have lost weight it is because of the loss of weight you need to have a fill.

Hi,

On April 4th I will have had my band for 2 years. Everything went very well, loosing almost 100 pounds in the first year. Since then I have gained back 25 pounds. I didn't loose any weight with my last two fills. I am considering getting another fill.

How do I know if my pouch has dialated short of taking a x-ray test? Also, if the pouch is dialated, what can be done about this?

Thanks,

GWFAMI

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
