I felt the same exact way! I am so happy for you that you are getting your surgery tomorrow - you are definitely on your way! You are gonna be ok & you will be happy with your results. Just follow your doctor's instructions and do your part and you will be happy with your decision. I wish you the very best of luck :) Take good care of yourself :)

Its scary because you are changing the entire way that you eat, but you will get used to it. You will just have to do a little more preparing for just yourself. I prepare my Breakfast & lunch every day to take to work. Just make sure you have the foods that you are allowed to have in your house and that will help. Its attainable, it really is.

It's totally normal to feel this way! I think everyone feels this way, or I know I did! Congrats on the start of your new healthy life. Just get it into your head that you can do this, precisely follow your doctor's instructions and you'll do great! Keep us updated on how you're doing after your surgery!

You will totally do fine. You just have to know it is not easy, it isn't fast and you have to have patience like never before.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
