My whole lapband team does low carbs. We all are on high Protein low carbs. Carbs turn to sugar. Sugar turns to fat. Protein keeps you full and is good for your muscle, after 4 years, I slipped some carbs in, big mistake on my part. Wishing you good luck.

When I took the huge step of surgery I swore off "diets". I wanted to eat to live. So that's worked for me. I eat by the grand design of the research: protien, veg, fruit, complex carbs. I find that when I do this the numbers are already taken care of.

Everything I eat is paired with Protein.

No more food obsessions.

No counting. Just logging for protein.

I'm so over food.

I drink my fluids.

I work out. I eat complex carbs before I work out and eat Proteins within 20 minutes of finishing.

I don't maintain complicated. That was proven pre WLS. For me, this is not complicated. I trust it. It works for me.

i love this post on a friends blog. bear in mind, she was never morbidly obese, but did go from eating a sugar heavy, low fat, high carb, vegetarian diet to a mostly paleo, no processed foods diet over the course of seven years. she has been searching for "the answer." and was surprised at what she discovered. http://mamasweeds.com/2014/02/23/the-pendulum-and-why-i-broke-up-with-low-carb/

Brilliant! I would have to use that many words and more.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
