I am almost 4 weeks post op and I just can't cope with this adjustment. This has been the hardest and worst month of my life. I am dehydrated because I can't seem to drink enough Water. I only drink about 25 oz a day. I just can't drink more, I try and I feel sick. I barely eat anything because I get sick, due to be dehydrated. I am depressed all the time. I know everyone says this will pass, but I feel like this has been a bad decision. And I can't take it back. I am trying to stay positive and keep in my mind that in the long run this will be the best thing I could've done, but it just dont feel like it right now.. I am on soft foods, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, fish, plain yogurt, tofu, and retried Beans oh and cheese, but I just can't eat that anymore. And I have been just eating broths but my Dr said my body is in starvation mode and I am burning muscle.. I just don't know what to do anymore...

It's all good. I didn't even look at your profile to see what kind of surgery you had. We also get these kind of complaints on this forum too. But I don't recall seeing anyone with only 25 ozs of Water? That's dangerous and I hope you find a solution?

Hey Hon, hang in there. I'm glad you posted here by mistake..... Sounds like you need süpport. Try sipping a variety of liquids.... Milk, crystal lite, juices, whatever...just get in your liquids! Dehydration can also contribute to fatigue and depression. Post here any time....we'll be here for you, too.

Hang in there...I had "buyers remorse" too in the beginning and wondered and cried often about what had a I done to myself. It does pass if that is any comfort. Can you reach out to your doctors office for added supported...a nutritionist or the psychologist....just to get you through this phase....any WLS is a shock to your system and there is definitely an adjustment period.

Wishing you much success! Feel better!

Sending best wishes your way -- hope you can get those liquids in and begin feeling better right away. Sounds like a bumpy start but when it smooths out you will be feeling like yourself again, only minus the food cravings and extra weight.

Have you asked your doctor to prescribe you some anti-nausea meds? They may help enough to allow you to get in more fluids, which in turn will make you feel better altogether... 25 oz of fluids a day is worrisome, so make sure you call your surgeon. Best wishes :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
