Is there anything more depressing...

Recommended Posts

Than watching all your long-cultivated hair, detach itself from your head, pool on your shoulders in a sprawling mass... and then swirl its way through the hot Water, down towards the plug hole.

Thoroughly blocking the damn thing.

Urgh...

And we're not talking small amounts, either.

Okay, you can stop this now, oh body of mine. I've had enough already...

That would be very depressing. My hair wasn't super long but I did have a lot cut off last week in preparation of what's to come. I would rather see short strands coming out rather than longer ones, if that makes sense.

I don't care what I have to pay, I'll get hair extensions if I have to! Not sure skinny and bald is the look I am going for.

I'm a male with short hair and am four months out and have run into this problem. I use Biotin Nd never thought at age 28 I'd be using sprays to cover up missing spots. Little by little over the past couple weeks it SEEMS to be getting better.

Well, this girl is now seriously considering cutting her hair off into a bob.. But I'm not sure what works best? Long hair that's sparse or short hair that's sparse?

Either way - it sucks monkeys butt....

Baby girl..........I lost all my hair in the hospital. i don't think it would have been so tragic if I had lost it a little at a time...i looked like a cancer survivor.......

Scary when women lose their adornment of hair! :(

Yup, sucks either way. I have fairly short hair that is also naturally thin. I have black hair makeup to cover my part, etc. to give the allusion of thickness, but I am concerned this won't be enough...like Sinead once said, "nothing compares to hairs."

I'm right there with you. It's been coming out too fast over the last month. Guess I should have taken that Biotin everyone recommended.

Don’t cut it all off you can’t hide it as well if you chop it all off!

I lost well over half my hair and what didn’t fall out broke really easily my hair felt like a babies hair.

I didn’t go to the hair dressers for about 4 months when it started to fall out when I did he was s shocked at how much had fallen out.

You cant really get extensions either your hair is weak and falling out clip ins are too heavy they will pull out your hair and glue ins the same thing its heavy it weights the hair down so will make whats already coming out worse.

I had thin hair anyway to begin with if I had hair like my sister no one would of noticed sadly I am the only one of 5 girls who didn’t get the thick unruly head of hair that looks like you have 3 wigs on at once!

I would keep hair appointments as long as I could go inbetween cuts but when its thin and straggly you just have to go you keep it blunt cut to look thicker.

My regrowth now its about 3 inches long now its like I have odd layers in my hair but its growing back!

Still not as thick as my thin hair was originally but thicker than hello scalp all over my head!

I take 2 10,000mg tabs of Biotin a day I buy it off Amazon I think it helped I wish I had taken it before it started falling out not when it did start might have saved some of my hair!

It is really sad though seeing your hair all over your pillow in your bed on your clothes like a shedding cat how much breaks or comes out when brushing it the handfuls that come out when your washing it and there is nothing you can do to stop it just try and slow it down!

I've been taking it... So much for that!

Lets just hope that it makes my hair grow back more quickly... and before I'm totally bald...

I have layered hair. Down to my boobs.

I'm thinking shoulder length bob. Blunt cut.

Can't keep these layers when they're starting to look so sparse and straggly...

Hurrumpf.. Back to the 90's I go...

I began losing in earnest about 3 weeks ago -- I was prepared though, a few years ago I had an injury and surgery and the same thing happened. Doc told me then that it isn't uncommon for any major surgery, and certainly not in ours. I cut my hair as well. Good news, it will grow back, but the first time it happens one does take it very personally.

Your hair looks pretty short in your pic :-)))))

This too will pass, just a bit scarey to begin with. Mine fell out from July to December (but only in earnest from Sept), lost about half the volume and only now can I see decent regrowth.

Chopped mine off, but you might only need a trim ;-)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
