I started today. If I could go back a week, I would've detoxed off of caffeine beforehand. That's been worse today than being hungry. I was normally good for 10 or more diet cokes a day and cold turkey sucks. But this is all for a bigger purpose so I'll suck it up.

You can do it! :) I'm on day 4 of mine. I'd be lying if I said it was easy, but it's not SO much of a struggle that it's unbearable haha just stay busy! It helps. Good luck!!!

Finishing up day 7. I've not really had a problem except for a headache the first couple days. I'm getting lots of Protein and low, low carbs so no hunger. You can do this!!!!

I'm having the Gastric Sleeve procedure on Feb 25th. I have not been given a pre surgery diet except for Clear liquids 24 hrs before and nothing after midnight. My last meal is going to be Chinese food I think!

I wonder if the won ton Soup broth is ok after the surgery? Hmmmm!

You can! I'm almost done with day 6, and I promise you if I can do it, anyone can! It's been easier than I thought. If you can have sf pudding and low cal yogurt, then LOAD UP. I eat a few of each of those every day, along with a Protein shake, ProtiDiet concentrate (basically liquid crystal light but with protein) and add some powder to my Soup, and I've been averaging 100-110g of Protein a day... Which is why I'm barely ever hungry. I've been lucky though. No headaches, barely any hunger, and surprisingly not cranky.

You got this!!

I had my last meal last night too-Chinese also. But I had egg drop Soup so it's all good. :) Today I am having nothing but clear liquids, tea, chicken broth and Powerade Zero orange. I was only put on restrictions the day before (today) and nothing after midnight. I'll be in bed between 8-9 anyway. Good luck to you!

Day two of pre op diet for me, and even though I can have caffeine and soda now, I cannot after surgery so I just ousted that yesterday as well. I didn't realize how much caffeine I had daily until now. As for my last meal before pre diet, I had noodles. Won't get to have those for awhile :-)

You might want to ask your surgeon or nutritionist! Good luck!! I won't have surgery until March 7th so I'm not doing the diet yet! On the paperwork the surgeon office gave it said 4 day before surgery of liquid diet and clear the day before!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
