March 2014 Surgery!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! My name is Faith. I am having gastric bypass on Wedsnesday. I am starting to get nervous. I would love to connect with people who are on the same journey as me. I could use the support and being able to talk to others who understand. :)

Omfg, I'm so angry at myself, I'm supposed to be on a whoa strict diet this week, didn't lose enough on my pre op diet, they want 4 pounds this week or the 18 th is off. I was out with friends and was too embarrassed to order a salad when every one else had a hamburger. What on earth? Crap, I feel so angry at me. . .gah!

I slept in my bed, used extra pillows. Kingsize or body pillow to use as protection I hugged onto it slept comfortable.

still having trouble figuring out this forum on my iPad, but this post I was referring to the post about sleeping at home after surgery.

So today was day 1 of my pre op liquid diet... Not going to lie it was hard. It is also my time of the month... I have no energy and ended up taking two naps. I also seem to have a headache that just won't go away. I only ended up drinking 3 of my 4 shakes. In the car on my way home today the realization that I won't be able to eat substance for a month really hit me. Overall emotional day with lots of wtf am I doing moments..

I'm in my room finally. Got here at like 6 EST. Extremely tired and my upper stomach has bad gas pains. So far my incisions feel fine. I mainly feel tired, thirsty (cotton mouth), and gassy. They say they'll send me home 2mrw. I hope everyone that had it recently is doing well.

Great news! Get some rest!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
