Thanks

The only thing I really brought with me, was an extra pair of clothes (something comfy) to wear on the day I got to go home. My family brought my phone & laptop for me after the surgery, so I wouldn't be bored just laying there. I was never good with keeping still if I didn't have something to occupy myself with.

Sweats, sweatshirt, comfortable shoes. Bare minimum and it's all about comfort

I took ear plugs and was so glad I did. My roommate snored the whole night. Also- lip balm like Chapstick. Your lips will be very dry.

Some kind of slip on shoes (I had flip flops) to walk all you can after you wake up, and a robe -- but they probably have them at the hospital. I brought a few tea bags as I I am such a tea person. You will do great!

If your on this site look at where it says Magazine on the top and click on there then go to lapband surgery , and it will take you there then on the right look where it says pre op and it will give you some good info. on what you should take , then you can always look at post op also to be pre pared, good luck.

Mine was a day procedure, but I did pack lip balm, warm and cozy socks, and super comfy, loose clothes to wear home. I also brought all my medications with me, as well as Gas X, so I was prepared for afterwards. When I got home, I kept my bag on my bed with me, so I didn't have to reach for anything.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
