Don't get frustrated slow losers!

Recommended Posts

I had a 6 week stall, only lost 1 lb. Since January 15, I've lost 8 lbs!! So excited! 13 lbs away from my second goal which is a BMi of 25 and no longer overweight. 10 lbs after that and I'm officially on maintenance. Yippee!! Let's just keep the Girl Scouts (cookies) away from the house!!

I have to admit, I am a little disappointed that I weighed in yesterday, and had only lost a pound last week. Rationally, I know 1-2 pounds per week is an average loss, and my monthly guest may play a part in Water retention...I guess we all just have our moments. I told my mom, "This is what normal people's bodies do during Weight Watchers!" That didn't work for me last time around. It amazes me that I have to eat 500 calories and have 80% of my stomach removed before I see the scale SLOWLY moving in the right direction! sigh...

Thank you for your uplifting news! (And for allowing me to vent.)

Amy

I'm frustrated too!! It seemed to fall off at first, 21 lbs in 17 days! Then nothing for the last 5 :(

I started mushy foods, but can eat very very little. Wondering if my body is just hanging onto everything now. I'm moving all day with two little ones, don't have gym clearance for 3 more wks...please let me lose some more before then!!

Don't get frustrated!! I had a 5 week stall. Only lost one lb!!! I have now lost another 8. There is an article about how our bodies use and store glycogen. This is what causes stalls. Google it and you will feel much better!!! Hey!!! 21 lbs isn't anything to cry about. Good for you!!!!! xoxo, K

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
