Day 4 and worse'd day so far.

Recommended Posts

Had surgery on Monday 20th, first two days went by pretty easy, yesterday wasn't to bad, but today has been no fun, dry heaves and now more sickness, had to use the bucket more then once today, Pain in the right side is just as bad, but hurts more when the dry heaves start, those seem to start after taking the anti sickness pills, Please tell me this is going to be worth it, I've never felt this bad before.

I would put a call into your doctor maybe you need some type of other pill. They make the big bucks so worry about you feeling better. Good luck!

I too had surgery on the 20th and have been nauseous yesterday. But I took zofran and it kicked it in the butt. But it gets better. My nurses were surprised that I am doing so well. It gets better. I promise. If you wanna have a buddy just let me know and I'll talk to you!

maybe you have contracted the flu. when I went into the hospital for my colonoscopy everything went well until the next day. I was so sick vomiting every half hour come to find out I brought an unwanted visitor home ...the flu! I was so sick for four days...work I wasn't planning on missing.

Oddly I think day 4 was rough for me too. I had one day of nausea -- it was 3 or 4 -- I hope you feel better very soon!

Dry heaving is not normal unless you are drinking too fast or have eaten something your not supposed to. If you are foaming you need to go to ER. That is a sign your esophagus near your pouch collapsed. Also watch your heart rate (not over 120) and temp.

FYI my worse days were 4-9

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
