7 Weeks Post-Op and Still dealing with nausea and vomiting

Recommended Posts

I had the gastric sleeve on December 2, 2013 so today marks 7 weeks post-op and I am incredibly nauseated. I have a hard time dealing with eating food most of the time. I am really tired today because for the last few days all I can manage is Breakfast and Water throughout the day without throwing up. I have an appointment in three days with my surgeon so I am not incredibly worried.

I hate eating, everything seems utterly gross to me. The only thing I can manage is eggs, yogurt and occassionally Protein shakes. I know I am really malnurished at this point which is scary since I am still over 300 lbs. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had the same issue and I had to have them go in to see if there was food that got stuck in the hole that brings your food to the stomach and it turned out that my hole was to small so they had to make it bigger so I can actually eat without throwing up.

I hope this gets better for you! My problem seems to be if I eat an extra bite, I throw up within 10 minutes. And what's most annoying is what I can eat fine one day is too much food the next. I hope your surgeon can help you--your problem is more troubling than mine, and mine is annoying enough!

There is some days I hardly eat very much and the next day it seems like I haven't ate for months, and can finish my plate, the next day I can't eat anything. I can't eat white meat makes me puke, but the darker meat I have no problem

Initially I was able to eat anything in the first 2 stages but when it came to food I started having good and bad days which became progressively worse. Now I can barely eat anything without throwing it back up. I had a CT scan around week 4 and the surgeon said my stomach looked fine but I guess I can ask him about the hole being large enough.

I can't eat most meats or vegetables. I don't eat rice, bread or Pasta per diet orders so my options are limited. It is all very frustrating.

Ya, I agree I live in a group home and I don't have control of what's made so it gets kinda hard to eat healthy, but I try hard to eat as healthy as I can. Moving out in March or April, so I'm in control of what I eat. I'm looking at two apartments this Wednesday and Friday, and there for March first. So I hope at least one works

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
