I did five mornings in the gym for cardio this week! Today, no gym. Instead, I will be mowing the lawn. Exercise, but not that much fun. Tonight, I'm looking to have some mini-golf fun. My doctor gave me the go ahead to do what I want in the gym, so I think I will start doing weights 3 or 4 nights a week. That added to my five mornings a week of cardio should do wonders for my weight loss goals.

Today, I'm down 37 lbs. since I started my pre-surgery diet less than a month ago.

Ran 4.97 miles on the elliptical this morning. Then walked up and down the stairs at work quite a bit dealing with bad kids again. Came home walk the puppies for one-mile. Then went to the gym and lifted weights for about 45 minutes. Busy day!

I took this morning off from the gym. I needed the sleep! I'm getting ready to take the puppies for a walk now.

Started the day with 45 minutes on the stair master (arc trainer) at the gym. Then walked around the Magic Kingdom at Disney until the rain started. Now I'm heading home for my 5 oz. lunch.

20 km run today...my longest thus far. Getting ready to do a HM next month.

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/448787249

AND IT ALL STARTED WITH ONE! No matter where you are in the fitness ranks....NEVER, ever give up.

NO one...NO one, NO one starts out by being fit. Its a process. You Just do what you can do...and then you do it again..and again.

100% true statement here... My goal was 19km at a 10 min pace today. As I started today, I didn't know if I would get through the first 5k....my mind just wasn't ready.....THEN, some good music came on, remembering where I was 7 months ago tomorrow ( my first run in 20+ years), and remembering some of the motivation from this site from several different folks.

Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy your weekend....I'm going to! :)

Today was one of those days.....went to gym ay 6 am....while in the locker room changing my clothes, I decided I just did not have it today.....so I spent a good 45 minutes in the sauna (think I fell asleep)....then 30-40 minutes in the HOT whirlpool...shave and shower...fresh clothes.....ordered a Protein shake from the juice bar before heading home....

No workout....after going at it day after day sometimes you just have to shut down....and that's exactly what I did...and still doing...

That was at 6am, now it is 3pm and I feel a little guilty and I'm ready to go back..but perhaps it is better to do nothing today....

It happens....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
