It has been a week and two days since my surgery. Things are going better now. First few days I had a lot of gas/heartburn but that has seem to be much better these last three days. Still a little pain at the port site, but getting better. Not as painful getting up and down out of chairs and bed and can sleep on my back and left side. I have tried the right side a couple of times but still causes pain where the port is. I am on full liquids til Monday and then I will start soft foods. I am definitely ready for that, even if it is just 1/2 to a cup :) Since the pre-op Optifast diet I have lost 22 pounds!!! That is exciting! I can definitely tell the difference!

I am excited for all of us as we begin our new life!! I wish us all continued success and good results on this life journey!

My husband says he thinks my breath has a funky odor since being banded, any one else experience this?

It's the ketones that do it from a high Protein, low carb diet. Mouthwash and brush teeth.

Good luck on the April 1 date! That is my first fill date!!

I am doing good. I noticed that I wore the same tshirt to work today that I took some before pics in on day 1 of the pre-op 10 day diet. Definite difference in one month plus a few days. This is an XL tshirt.

Awesome! I can see the weight you have lost so far. Good job! Does your port still swell or get hard like a gold ball? My first fill is on the 18th and I'm kind of nervous.

I have noticed a lot of hunger between meals and not feeling satisfied after a meal. I have no Fluid in my band right now, and the swelling has gone down quite a bit.

Have you starred mushies yet? Oh and is your port area swollen still?

I started mushies yesterday. I am still adjusting to them. As for my port site, it's feeling better. I went in to my surgeons office on Wednesday because I was concerned with how my incision was healing. The nurse looked and said I had a knot and then cut it. I haven't felt port pain since.

Oh ok then... My hunger started going away when I started mushies. Hopefully you don't have a hard time on them. I felt like a normal person again and weight started to drop then too. My port doesn't hurt but it still swells up off and on throughout the day.

Yeah, probably the bending over was too much with gardening.

I go on April 1st for my first fill.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
