I had my first fill today, and I have to be on Clear Liquids for 24 hours and progress throught the stages just like after surgery, but only at a faster rate. I had 2 cc's and can definately tell a difference.

Hi Justine, my doctor typically has you do 1 day of liquids and 1 day of mushies. You should feel a bit of restriction. Sometimes, however the first fill tends to go away pretty fast. Don't be surprised if you have to go in for another fill soon. Mine makes you wait 2 weeks.

I agree...my doctor does not require a full week of liquids post-fill. But, day one is liquids then day two is mushies and/or taking it slow and easy with regular food if you feel up to it. But, as always...follow whatever you were told by your doctor!

:paranoid:rolleyes Can some one tell me what I am suppose to feel like after the first fill

I had my first fill yesterday 1.3cc in a 10cc band (banded on 2/22/07)

My DR told me to stay on liquids for the first 48hrs and then back to sold

food. my fill appt was 8am and I made the mistake and did not eat before

the fill. Yesterday after the fill I had a starbuck non-fat Decaf vanilla latte

and later in the day egg drop Soup and sip on a 20oz Water all day

So today I am starving :hungry: but I don't feel any different from the day

before the fill I plan on staying on liquids today but am I suppose to

feel the fill right away or does it take a few days to kick in?????

First off...Justine717 you have made awesome progress!! I'd appreciate any tips. I was banded Feb 8 and just had my 1st fill Monday (apr 2). Although I feel like I've been eating significantly less since my surgery, I have only lost 5 pounds. And, after my first fill I feel some restriction but not a lot and seem to be able to eat any type of food. I've seen postings where bandsters will say it took a couple fills to get it right but it's been almost 2 months since my surgery and I thought I'd have lost a lot more weight by now.

Started at 265

Op weight: 255

Current: 250

PKP1492, I am considered an average/slow loser at 1 lb a week. It took me 8 months to get to optimal fill level. Keep the faith. You will get there. Julie

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
