Having VSG in March was wondering if Starbucks is banned forever? I'm not a coffee person but LOVEEEEE my morning Chai Tea Latte with soy milk.

I have it once in a while.. The world won't stop revolving if you have it as the odd treat.

Every day and you might end up clocking up the calories?!

If I can have it a few times a week or just know one day I can have it in moderation or sparingly even I would feel better.

Omg.. I love, love love. Chai tea latte with skim milk. I have not had one since my surgery which.is exactly 4 weeks from tomorrow. Unfortunately the chai tea mix they use has sugar..don't know how much.. But I am sure a treat every once in a while would be ok. I plan to visit my Starbucks and inquire about the sugar grams on the 3 pump serving g for a small chai tea latte., I tried the chai bags in skim milk .. I did not like it. Too weak of a flavor. Let me know what u find out...

'Course you can. As long as you know how many calories/sugars/fats are in it and you're not drinking it in preference to getting your Protein in and veggies in.

i would say, however, food (protein) and Water, is the most important things for you to consume. If you're hitting those targets and your calorie targets, I personally couldn't see why not.. Although, a lot of caffeine is frowned upon because it dehydrates.

Starbucks Chai Tea Latte

Nutrition Facts

Serving Size: 16 fl.oz (448.0 g)

Amount Per Serving % Daily Values

Calories 200

Cholesterol 5mg 2%

Sodium 95mg 4%

Total Carbohydrates 44.0g 15%

If you have a smart phone they have several calorie counting apps. I love My Net Diary bc it will look up anything (generic and brand name items) and give you the full nut value not just calories. Then when you track it, at the end of the day it tallies up your total Protein, calories, fat, carbs etc.

I'm not a big Starbucks groupie (but my sis is...luckily there was one we could walk to from the Marriott in TJ when we were there for my surgery). But I do like tea and coffee. (Luv my Keurig) When I was on my preop, I mixed my am coffee with a vanilla or chocolate Protein Shake for a kind of latte/mocha drink. Then I tried Decaf chai tea with vanilla Premier Protein as the "creamer" and it wasn't that bad. The Protein Drink is thicker and richer than the milk I usually use.

Naaa Starbucks is out. I have a Keurig with about 100 K-cups cranking pretty regular. :D

coffee is OK down the line. Gotta watch the acid though and the sugars.

I switched to a skinny cinnamon dolce steamer- like a cinnamon roll in a cup and totally on my nut's plan. Yum!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
