Dannon Greek Yogurt w/Special K Protein cereal - yummy!

Recommended Posts

I've been getting a little bored with my yogurt so I've been looking for something to add to it. Pre op I used to like the Chobani Flips but the sugar content is too high. I saw Special K Protein Cereal on sale in the store today and it has 10gr protein in a 3/4 cup serving so I figured I'd give it a try. I mixed 1/4 cup into my yogurt and it was really good. Gave it a tasty little 'crunch' and it brings protein up to 15gr. I think next time I'll add a tbsp of chopped pecans, too! :-)

There are also some higher Protein granola so that really help the yogurt blahs! Can't remember for sure who made em but it may be Special K. It's funny...I can rock the yogurt for weeks then I hit a wall and can't even stand to look at it for a while. Eventually I get over it and want it again. My brain is crazy!!!!

That sounds yummy. I like to mix yogurt and cottage cheese together. Adding some high protein cereal to it sounds really good.

I do the same. Either chobani flips or lite $ fit Greek yogurt and add either granola or Special K cereal. It's perfect for Breakfast or a snack or on the go!

Kashi GoLean Orginial is good too. One cup is a serving with Protien at 13 grams, Fiber at 10 grams, sugar only 9 grams and 160 calories.

I asked for a Yogurt maker for Christmas so my daughters and I are going to try our hand at making our own. My youngest is Lactose Intolerant so we are going to try making plain yogurt Lactose free so we can add stuff to it. We found some sugar-free syrups at wal-mart quite cheap.

I forgot about Kashi cereals. I'll try them next. :-)

How much do you eat at one time? It seems that either the fat grams or the sugar grams are too high when I look at yogurt. according to my doctor I can only have 3 grams of fat and 5 grams of sugar

i do the dannon light and fit Greek, it's 5 ounces, 80 calories, 12 grams of Protein, zero fat, but 6 or 7 grams of sugar depending on the flavor so that is slightly about your cutoff (FYI I'm a dumper but this does not bother me at all)

I like Dannon Light & Fit Greek 5.3 oz cup. 80 calories, 0 fat, 9g carbs, 8g sugar, 12g Protein. My favorite flavors are cherry, blueberry, peach, and strawberry. I can eat a whole one most times. Sometimes I throw out about 1/4 of it.

If you follow your doctor's guidelines than you can eat 1/2 or even a little more and be around 5g of sugar.

Thanks I think I was forgetting to look at the fact that I may not be eating the whole container. Will try this as soon as I can

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
