I know MANY women who have WLS suffer from PCOS, I am only 3.5 weeks out so idk if my cycle has/will regulate but did anyone else have excess Hair growth from PCOS and if so, did that stop, & when???

Hi! Well my cycles are definitely more regular now. Not exactly on a definite pattern but I get them consistently. I even became pregnant in September which was wild after 3 years of nothing. Unfortunately I miscarried but since then even I'm getting periods at least monthly. I wish I could say the hair growth had stopped but not totally. It doesn't seem as heavy but I still have it despite being very close to goal. My 1st period or so after surgery were pretty brutal. It's a bit better now. Idk if this is my new normal.

I have pcos too. My surgery was in june 2013 and I am starting to get normal periods for the first time. I am 42 years old so you can imagine it is new for me. My Hair growth is very improved too. I wish I had dine this in my 30s because maybe I would have been able to get pregnant. Not having children is a huge source of pain for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
