jelly like substance in stool

Okay i am hoping someone out there can help me. All day my stomach has been acting up. It was a few days since i had bowel movement so i did take stool softner which now i am able to have bowel movement and several. Well i noticed some blood with a jelly like sustance. Has that happen to anyone after they took stool softners.
