I been told i should be taking in least 1000 calories. I get in maybe 600 cals in a day. I can only eat like 2 tablespoons and feel full and cant eat anymore. I have no problem taking in liquids that goes down easy but foods different story. My surgery for the sleeve was nov 19.2013. So just over 4 wks. Just wondering if others are having same issue

I'm curious on the answers for this. I'm only 9 days out so still just on full liquids. I can have yogurt and strained Soup in addition to my Protein Shakes. I get full on like 40 calories of yogur. I don't know how I will be able to get enough nutrients from food without the liquid additions. Good luck!

I was about 200-300 the first 2 weeks and about 500-600 for a long time after that.

I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow and although I've come very close I've yet to hit 800 calories.

I'm in the same boat at seela here.

I rarely hit 700 calories. .that only happens after I've been outside shoveling snow for more than 1 hour. But just my day to day normal routine is around 400-650 calories. My program doesn't tell you to hit a certain caloric goal. I think that's silly to do to any of us that have had surgery. As long as your hitting your Protein, Water goals and exercise goals you should be fine.

I am 2 weeks out tomorrow and range from 200-500 cals a day. It's frustrating because I feel so run down all the time. I am in purée stage and can hardly tolerate that! I made some puréed boiled cauliflower and ate two small bites and threw it back up :( but things like pudding stay down fine usually. I go back to work tomorrow and am so worried about not being able to keep up at work due to feeling so run down. No energy! To add to the frustration, I have no desire to eat or drink. Like seriously.....NONE. I force myself to help with energy but end up throwing up anything thicker than pudding. Feel low.....

As far as no energy goes it is so important to get your necessary amount of Protein or u will feel like shit. Protein Drinks work very well for me. I drink designer whey and champion whey brands. They taste very good and is easy on my stomach. My friend that had surgery 11 yrs ago introduced me to it and thank god cause some protein drinks taste like shit

Do the best you can. Everyone's pouch has it's own unique preferences, lol! Our pouches are or can be quite temperamental. This is a one day at a time journey. The denser the Protein the fuller you'll feel and quicker. If a particular food doesn't agree with you right now, leave it alone for a couple of weeks. Even with me, 17 months out, there are days my pouch is stubborn and I have to really push myself to try to get close to my calorie intake. Other days, no problem whatsoever. It's still early for you. So, don't worry. You've got a whole community here to support you. As always, if your concerns increase, call you surgeon's office.

Just to clarify, we don't have a pouch but a sleeve. :)

Thank you for the clarification:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
