BCBS Illinois

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone, I'm new to this. I'm in need of some help. I have BCBS Illinois and was wondering who else has them. I been reading all the stories and it seem like they are a very rough insurance company. Someone please help me.

I had BCBS of Illinois, no problems, very simple due to the additional comorbidities. Of course, my out of pocket expenses were high due to a high deductible and only 80/20 coverage. Good luck.

I also have BCBS IL and have had very few problems with them personally. I just got some paperwork that they're rescinding an approval for part of the procedure but I feel pretty confident I will be able to work with them on that. Usually it's a matter of a code being wrong.

I have a 1500 out if pocket. But no deductible and no copy. Hope it goes very smoothly.

I have BCBS IL and they have been pretty awesome. I call every day haha. I'm having major issues with insurance but the issue is my insurance coordinator. I'm not even going to get into that one. Anyways, it's been a week since my paperwork was submitted. My only issue is the indefinite timeline. One person told me it would take 72 hrs, one 5 days, one 5-7, one 5-10, one said one month. I wish the issue was addressed accurately. I'm very anxious!

Good luck! Hopefully we will both have an easy approval!

I am currently waiting for approval as well. I have been in a program since Jan 2013. I've gone through all the steps needed. I just had my last appointment with the surgeon. Had my presurgery consult and filled all the meds I will need for after surgery. My surgery date is March 13th and I start my 2 week pre surgery liquid diet Jan 28th. However, I had my regular monthly appointment and the nurse told me that they will be sending in the paperwork for the pre cert for the surgery sometime next week. I thought I was already approved!! I don't understand why they would schedule surgery and give me medications and stuff before knowing the insurance will approve the surgery. I guess I will be calling tomorrow to find out. I will be so mad if I went through all of this and the insurance doesnt pay for the surgery.

Thanks, I will. Hopefully I will know sometime next week! Surgery is less than 3 weeks away. Just can't believe the pre-cert is so last minute :/

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
