How soon after surgery can I start excercising?

I have signed up for a pilates class at my school next semester. The class begins 7 1/2 weeks after my surgey. Will I be okay by then to work out?

Ask your Dr.....it was one of the first tings I asked him....I was released 1 week after surgery, but told to keep heavy lifting to a minimum for at least 3 weeks....

Again...ask your Dr......what If I said you can exercise 3 hours after surgery? No? then how about 12 hours...1 day? 3 days?....1 week??? 3 weeks???

There are some questions that should not be asked on the internet from strangers....there are people here that will tell you just about anything...even those who never exercise will give their advice....

I agree with B-52. My surgeon's office said walking was great, but no other for awhile. I can't remember how long, at least 6-8 weeks. Other people, I am sure, have heard other advice! Only your own doctor can answer that for you! Karen..aka..kll724

that is a question for your doctor to answer..best to ask them and get their opinon

i was okay'd to walk as soon as i was able to and told to stop if i hurt anytime...
