Originally banded in June 2013 and my port flipped in October, so back to surgery I went for a port revision. Surgery completed around Thanksgiving and I got a fill of 1cc; and I am still healing but I am back to being able to work out in the gym. I am suffering with Constipation now and I can't stand it!! Any advice on a long term resolution for this issue?

Ready to get back onto my weight loss plan of attack, this is the best decision that I could have made for redefining my life!!

I had my first band about 3.5 years ago. Got down to goal almost but for six months a constant throwing up. They thought band had slipped. So they went back in and my stomach had adhesed to my spleen They had to remove band, separate stomach and spleen and stitch with 100 staples which according to surgery is not a lot. I was devastated. Had no idea the band might be removed. It took about 6-9 months of insurance company hoop jumping and finding a new surgeon. What a difference a more experienced surgeon made. The fills have always been a breeze. First surgeon fills were always problematic.

Glad you're back on the road again. Even with my issues I'd do it all over again. Wait, I did do it all over. Lol. My daughter is a bander also.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
