what am I missing?

This is happening with the slightest trauma to my forearms. The small one is from cleaning the litter box and the large place if from retrieving the remote from the recliner and the board scraping on my arm. It has been happening for about three months now. I'm 9 months post op. I don't take b-12 daily but get the mega shot every three months. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Wow! I have no idea what could be happening, but it looks awful! I hope it doesn't hurt. I had marks like that on my hip right after surgery, but they didn't hurt. I joked that I had clearly managed to piss somebody off even while unconscious, lol. Good luck in figuring it out!

It doesn't hurt... It's just blood pooled under the skin. Once it happened and tore the skin a little and bled like a stuck hog! I emailed my surgeon's office and they emailed me back within 10 mins! On a Sunday! Told me to call first thing in the morning to make an appointment. Hope it's nothing, but I am not a bruise! I've had maybe five in my entire life! I had Lipo and didn't bruise! My surgeon said he'd never seen that!

I don't think this has anything to do with the sleeve. Contact your doctor; they are the experts.

My mother gets those when she has blood sugar issues. She is a brittle diabetic, so her sugar levels fluctuate a lot. Her doctor told her is was nothing to worry about. That being said, I'm glad you are going to the doctor to have it looked at. I wish you luck.

Yeah, I agree that it may not have anything to do with your sleeve, and I have learned to not minimize any medical issue. I heard an FBI agent say one time, "Not all that much is coincidence!"

I've done some research that suggests it is caused from wls, but no one could agree on the cause. I used to be diabetic for about twenty years and am off all meds now... Doubt that is the cause. :)

Are you on blood thinners?

No... That's what's puzzling. My dad was on blood thinners and his hands were terrible from putting his hands in his jeans pockets, etc... This just started a few months ago... All of the sudden. I suspect I have thyroid issues and no one will listen to me, but it was before this started. I have all the symptoms, but only test my doc will run is tsh and it's in the upper 3s. Which he says is normal.

Well there goes that theory..

As far as the thyroid seek out an endocrinologist,

That's who I see for my thyroid issues, a general doc will only do general testing :)

Please contact your Dr. right away about your bruising. This could be a really scary issue that can be diagnosed by blood work. My guess is your platelet count is low.... I had this happen when I was in my early 20's and nearly died. I had to have my spleen removed to rectify the issue.

When I saw your photo the first thing that came to mind was that you might be on blood thinners. Do see an endocrinologist and get that thyroid checked out properly. Please let us know what is going on with you and I wish you much luck.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
