Anyone go back to work two weeks after surgery?

Recommended Posts

I had the sleeve . I went back to work in 2 weeks. I was very tired by the end of the week. But all in all I was fine. I took shakes and Isopure with me. I am on my feet all day as a first grade teacher.

I went back after two weeks. I have predominantly an office job, plus teaching college classes, so not very physically demanding. I did ok, but I really could have used one more week energy wise.

I went back on post op day 10 and I'm a nurse. No problems other than needing a little nap when I got home that first week. Sip Water all day! I found that wearing a flexes or spandex type of undergarment under my scrubs helped a lot!

Well, it seems to be a theme here but I'm also in the medical field. I can take up to 4 weeks, but I think I'll go back at 3 weeks on January 2. Just found out right after my surgery I have a very serious medical issue that I may need some time off for so I want to save some.

I went back after 2 weeks...no issues here! Although my job is moderately sedentary...

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
