Will I be sipping forever?

Recommended Posts

This is a question for the veterans. I am 8 days out so as you know my life is baby sip, baby sip, baby sip. Will I ever take a normal drink of anything or is it a life of sips?

You may never be able to chug again but you will be able to drink normally again in the next few weeks/months. It will slowly get easier.

I miss chugging. This is why I stay away from juices because my instinct is to chug and it hurts.

Four months out and I can now drink 4-5 mouthfuls nonstop instead of having to take one sip, focus on carefully slowing before the next sip. It feels like chugging compared to the baby sips!

I am so glad to be able to post...I have not been able to do anything at all on this new site...not look at it, nothing til just now...I have tried daily...I couldn't even click to tell them I was having techno issues.

...no, you won't be a sipper forever. I am nearly nine months out...I can't guzzle like I used to, but I can drink quite normally. Keep sipping for now; it is what is best for you. Good luck!

It took me about 4 months to be able to really drink Water again.

I can drink several gulps at once now.

Thought it would never happen! :)

I'm two months out and can drink relatively "normally" again. That said, I still can drink Water more rapidly than I do with Powerade Zero for example...

Im 22 days out and I can take normal drinks like every 30 seconds when I'm really thirsty. I hate not being able to chug Water but honestly, being thin is much better than chugging. Haha

i'm almost three months post op and i can pretty much guzzle a good amount of Water at a time. i try not to, mostly because i'm paranoid, but you definitely get past the baby sips a few weeks out and can take more normal sips.

You can't hurt yourself with Water after the 6 week mark or when your surgeon considers your stomach totally healed. You'll just throw it up if you overdo it. I can gulp down about half a cup at once with no trouble at 7 months out.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
