Recommended Posts

Well I finally have a surgery date set to Jan 8th. I am so excited that it's finally approaching. I have been on this journey since August! I can not explain how thrilled and excited I am. I have so many thoughts that goes through my mind like what should I pack? Etc. Anyone else have a date for January?

I am having my surgery on jan 9th. I too am trying to decide what to pack

Day 4 of pre op diet. It actually has gotten a lot easier!! The first day was the hardest. Going from eating anything I wanted to just shakes and vegetables was hard! But no cheating here! Only 10 more to go!! Hows everyone else doing??

Started my liquid diet yesterday. I agree that it was harder than today. Luckily I only have a one-week diet. I think I'd eat my leg off otherwise! Went to my surgeon's pre-op today, hospital pre-op tomorrow and the big day is next Wednesday! Cannot wait! Woo hoo, we're all going to do awesome!

I'm very new to this app so I'm responding for the first time. My surgery date is January 16th. I've seen a few others with my same date. Good luck to everyone!! My pre-op is December 20th where I'll talk with the anesthesiologist and do all the necessary labs.

My revision fom band to bypass is on the 16th as well...labs 1/4, preop doctor visit on 1/8, and liquids for a week starting 1/9...im excited even though this is my 2nd WLS...

One day at a time is all you can do...it will definitely pay off in the long run. What type of Protein are you all using?

The center that is doing my surgery provided us with the protein mix that is mixed with Water. They had many flavors which I picked strawberry. It's not too bad. I had 1 for Breakfast, then 1 for lunch. I had 4 oz of fish & 1/2 cup of veggies. I must have at least 64 oz of liquid which I don't have problem with, I drink lots of water anyway. I hope day 2 goes better.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
