Any January Surgery Bandsters?

Recommended Posts

I would like to lose 100lbs

My Nsv would be to walk into any store and just pick an outfit that fits nicely.

Also, to wear my knee high boots. I also want to just be able to play with my two boys comfortably. I have a5 year old and 1 year old

I've heard so much positive stories and can't wait to be banded in January myself. Keep up the good work everyone

My surgery date is January 14, 2014.

This is a great way to start a new year. I am so excited! Everything is ready to go - I've paid for the procedure, had my physical exam, had 2 dietitian appointments so far, and am starting my pre-op diet on Jan. 1.

I'm in Winnipeg, MB.

Got my four sure date today. January 6th 8a.m. Super excited!!! When I have my before surgery appt with my surgeon I am going to make sure he thinks the lap band is best for me & not the sleeve or one of the other WLS. I keep reading so much info on which surgery is the best. So many people have the lapband but then get the sleeve or something else later. Any thoughts on what you all have heard or your physicians opinion?

How much research have you all done? I feel like I still have so many questions but the lapband train is still going full steam ahead.

I know I want this. I know it's the only way to help me get this weight off. I just feel like I need to know more about what to expect afterwards.

From the research reports I have read the rates of slippage and removal can be high after 4/5 years. So clearly complying with the "rules" of the band are essential to success.

I just feel like I don't know enough. Could be time for some more questions to the Doctor...

Went and met with the surgeon today. Went and got seven viles of blood work done. Just waiting now until the 16th. Everything is done! Yippee! The best news...Dr. said instead of two weeks if broth fasting that I only have to do one week! Liver is small ;) I am stoked about that!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
