Hello folks! I'm 34 and my surgery date is January 2nd! I haven't gotten the final approval from the insurance company yet so I hope to get it real soon! All surgeons are different and I will learn more after the final approval but I think my doc has a special pre-op diet as well! So the insurance better come on i'm running out of time! LoL!

Hello everyone. I am hoping to have my op on 3rd jan. Am 30yo, from the UK but live in Dubai and work in events. Am meeting with the surgeon tomorrow to have my consultation and get the date! I keep going through the forum to get as much knowledge as possible. I have about 30kg to lose. Would love to lose it all in 2014. Woohoo x

Had to squeeze myself into a chair with arms today. I am so hoping the band & I can work together to lose enough weight so I don't have to feel this way much longer. Can't wait to find out!

I've been there too. Not fun! We will make it work I'm just nervous for the surgery. Hope it is successful. I'm a worry wart when it comes to that.

I am just waiting for the OK from insurance. I am geared for an early-to-mid January date. I just turned 40, and I can't think of a better gift for myself than a healthy future!

What are everyones scale and nsv goals? I'll go first....

1. Drop 30kg - primary goal and to get past 72kg which was the lowest weight I reached just over 2 years ago.

2. NSV: to be able to cross my legs sat on a plane. I travel a lot and would appreciate the feeling of not filling the space I have entirely!

3. NSV: to be able to comfortably zip up some knee high boots that aren't wide fit!

4. NsV: do 10 pull ups. I love crossfit but can't do these. They are my ultimate exercise nemisis.

5. NSV: to get rid of my lovehandles. Almost gone but with a weight drop would hope they go forever!

I'm having my band redone on 7th January. It was first done in feb 2009 and I have dropped from 154kgs to 100kgs but have plateaued for nearly two years. After having a leaking port replaced in sept 2012 the band is still leaking so decision has been made to redo the whole procedure. Can't wait to recommence the journey

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
